Alpha Xi Delta’s Philanthropic Focus

The Kindly Hearts Initiative

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our national philanthropic focus of supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Alpha Xi Deltas across the country support two Key Impact Organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids, making a national and regional difference under the umbrella of our focus.

Letters of Love

All Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations participate in Letters of Love, Alpha Xi Delta’s national letter writing fundraising campaign. Held annually during the month of November this campaign benefits Alpha Xi Delta’s two Key Impact Organizations, StandUp for Kids and FosterClub.

Our Chapter's Impact:

The Zeta Eta Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta is proud to have brought our passion of Autism awareness to the West Chester campus and community. Autism Speaks is the world's largest autism advocacy organization. Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, funding research into the cause, prevention and treatment for autism, and to advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. Our Sisters look forward to increasing autism awareness on our campus and working with Autism Speaks. With 1 in 88 children diagnosed with autism and no known cure, Alpha Xi Delta is committed to improving the lives of children and families affected by autism. We hope our fundraising and awareness efforts can help put one more piece of the autism puzzle in place.

Our chapter does a lot to raise money for Autism Speaks. In October, we will attend the annual Walk Now For Autism Speaks in Philadelphia with all of our sisters, families, and friends. In November, we will host our annual XINGO event, which is a large bingo game and raffle fundraiser on the campus. The month of April is considered World Autism Month. Within this month, we have lit up the West Chester University's ram statue blue, we hold bake sales, give out free Rita's, and hand out ribbons and facts about autism on campus. We have also attended the Today Show with other Universities on April 1st, World Autism Awareness Day. Each year we strive to raise more money to help support Autism Speaks and the families that have been touched by autism spectrum disorders!

Alpha Xi Delta has joined together with all of the greek life on West Chester University's campus to help rasie money for Camp DreamCatcher. Camp DreamCatcher is a year round camp for children who have had their lived touched by HIV/AIDS.
